The site of the defunct New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc. (NUMMI) was home to an uncanny collaboration between General Motors and Toyota Motor Corporation for over 26 years. The NUMMI plant produced identical cars for international markets, resulting in a global language of automobiles. In Platform Bazaar, flattened artifacts from the factory were synthesized, translated, and reassembled into a digital workstation highlighting the metamorphosis of the labor force and the subjectification of the digital user. The factory is now home to Tesla's manufacturing headquarters.
